James R. "Jim" Langevin ( born April 22, 1964) is an American politician who is the U.S. Representative for Rhode Island's 2nd congressional district, serving since 2001. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Langevin is the first quadriplegic to serve in Congress and also the first quadriplegic speaker pro tempore appointed during the 116th Congress.
