Bio

Byron Lowell Donalds (born October 28, 1978) is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 19th congressional district since 2021. His district serves most of the heart of Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Naples. Donalds previously was the Florida State Representative for the 80th district, which encompasses Hendry County and part of Collier County, from 2016 to 2021. He and Burgess Owens are the two current African-American House Representatives from the Republican Party.
