John Mondy Shimkus (/mks/, born February 21, 1958) is an American politician currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 15th congressional district. He has served in the House since 1997, and is a member of the Republican Party. On August 30, 2019, Shimkus announced that he will not seek re-election for his seat in 2020.
