Louis Buller Gohmert Jr. ( born August 18, 1953) is an American attorney and former judge who currently serves as the U.S. Representative from Texas' 1st congressional district since 2005. Gohmert is a member of the Republican Party and is part of the Tea Party movement. In January 2015, he unsuccessfully challenged John Boehner for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.
